Marists in Matti Community celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary with lay Marists and parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. The mass at 9:00 o’ clock in the morning was even made more significant with the integration of 4 adult baptisms and confirmations. It seemed the dream of Fr. founder Colin is becoming a reality of “making the whole world Marists”. The parishioners were so at home with the feast because the Marists introduced it to them even before parish was erected last year.
Lunch was served after the mass. Some parishioners brought food and every one was satisfied. This year’s celebration was different because of some restrictions but Mary’s feast day was celebrated with hearts full of thanksgiving for the opportunity that Marists have; bearing her name and doing her work according to her spirit.
One thing which was obvious during the celebration was the spirit of welcome. Everyone felt comfortable with each other despite of physical distancing. After all this is what Mary wanted. She has found a place in the hearts of all; hidden in the midst of the human family and being able to identify with them all their needs.
