On 8th September 2019 during the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Guillermo Afable, DD, the Bishop of Digos, installed Fr. Christopher Thadeos Ganzon, SM as parish priest of the newly erected parish of Our Lady Fatima in Matti, Digos City. The appointment letter was read to the congregation by Fr. Arnold Garferio, SM as instructed by Bishop Afable.
Fr. Chris took his profession of faith and promised to lead, teach, serve, and live a good and upright life for God and for his people. After the prayer and blessing by Bishop Afable, he was led to the presider’s chair and was greeted by the leaders of the Parish.
After the communion service, Fr. Chris thanked Bishop Afable, all the Marist priests who have helped the parish and all the parishioners for their support, generosity and commitment. He asked everyone to pray for him and his new responsibility.
This is a historic moment since after seven years, the pastoral area has been erected as a Parish and will construct a Church in the near future.
In the same celebration, Fr. Pat Muckian, SM was also installed as Parochial Vicar.
