New Year, new communities!

The New Year has seen some personnel changes around communities of the District of Asia.

Chris & Kabs in France

Fr Kevin Medilo SM and Fr Chris Ganzon SM are currently braving their first real winter: at La Neyliere, France.

Along with Marists from Europe, Africa, Mexico and Oceania, Kevin and Chris are attending the six-month Colinian Renewal course.

 

Ranong Cmty - CroppedKevin’s absence leaves a community of three in Ranong, Thailand: Fr Frank Bird SM, Fr Gil Casio SM and Fr Arnold Garferio SM.

Marist Mission Ranong, via the Marist Asia Foundation, continues to serve Burmese migrants through health, education and pastoral care ministries.

 

 

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFr Pat Muckian SM has temporarily joined the St Peter Chanel Formation Community at Dumalag.

He and Fr Damian Dempsey SM are overseeing the formation program of the District’s college seminarians, as well as working with students throughout the city via Campus Catholic Ministry Davao.

Digos community - croppedHaving recently completed his missiological studies in Tagaytay, Fr Larry Sabud SM has joined Fr Lauro Arcede SM in the Matti community.

Larry and Lauro are ministering among the people of the Matti District Catholic Community, with a view to it becoming a parish.

 

Colin Community - croppedDistrict Superior Fr Pat Devlin SM and Balay Pasilungan (Center for Street Boys) Director Fr Lionel Mechavez remain resident in the Colin District House Community at Bajada, along with Nino Memorial SM and Roque Rebito SM.

Nino and Roque are in the penultimate year of their theological studies in preparation for priestly ministry.
