Together with their families, the Marist Bridgers held their general assembly at Majan Beach Resort, Samal Island on 19-20 July 2014. About 25 former Marist seminarians attended the gathering bringing along their parents, wives and children and relatives. people who are important in their lives.
The gathering started with a liturgy where they prayed for each other and the needs of the group. During the prayer, Fr. Chris Ganzon, SM, the Marist Laity animator of the District of Asia gave an input. He challenged the group to live out the Marist spirit in words, attitudes and actions. The group continued their socialization with the telling of stories during seminary days as well as singing favorite songs in the past over some drinks. It was a happy and fun filled evening.
On the second day, the group started with the celebration of the Eucharist. After the morning meal, the group had a time for personal sharing about their lives, families and works. A business meeting followed where they talked and discussed things that are significant for their life and mission as they grow and move forward with the inspiration of Mary, our Mother towards the future.
A new of officers were also elected by the group:
Coordinator: Kenneth Bretania
Assistant Coordinator: Mark Suico
Secretary: RJ dela Cruz
Treasurer: Arfil Bilbao
Cluster Area Coordinators: Cotabato: Jomari Camina
Davao: Randy Fuentes
Tagum: Charles Quila
It was wonderful and beautiful to see the Bridgers coming together with their own families. All of them committed themselves to be supporting the District of Asia and to be ‘forever Marists by heart’ to their families, friends and work places. Thus, the vision of Fr. Jean Claude Colin to ‘make the whole world Marist’ is happening through the Marist laity.
Keep up the good spirit, brothers! Well done and blessings to each of you and your families and to the whole Marist Bridge community! Cheers!
