Sixteen Altar Servers of Matti District Catholic Center (MDCC) is holding their Summer Camp at St. Peter Chanel Formation House in Dumalag, Davao City. The summer camp begins from 22nd and will end on 24th May 2014.
Fr. Lauro Arcede, SM, the Priest Coordinator of MDCC is facilitating the summer camp. During this time, the Altar Servers have an opportunity to pray, to learn about Marist life and mission and examine their knowledge of the things use in the mass. The altar servers will also pay a visit to the boys of the Balay Pasilungan. And since it is summer, they will also have an opportunity to go for a swim in a nearby beach and play fun games.
The Altar Servers met one evening with the Marist Fathers College Seminarians and shared about their life and what they do. When asked why did they become Altar Servers? Many expressed that they wanted to serve God and others. Asked who inspired them to serve the Church? Many replied that it’s their parents while few said it was their friends.” They were so serious in their responses!
We pray for the success of the Altar Servers Summer Camp and who knows, some of them may join the seminary and become Marist Priests in the future.
Welcome MDCC Altar Servers and have a meaningful Summer Camp!!
