During the feast day of St. Peter Chanel on 28th April, Bishop Guillermo Afable, DD, the Bishop of Digos, celebrated mass with other Marist priests at Casa di Maria in Rome. He was welcomed by Fr. John Larsen, SM, the superior of the community who is also a good friend of the Bishop.
Bishop Afable has had a long link with the Marists because of his missionary experience in the Pacific where he worked in the Diocese with other Marists as a priest then. This connection eventually lead to the invitation for Marists to work in his Diocese in 2004. At this time, there are 3 Marist priests living and working towards establishing a Parish in Matti.
We are delighted that Bishop Jimmy found time to visit our Marist confreres in Rome. We thank him for his prayers and support.
