OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs its annual activity for every new school year, Catholic Campus Ministry of Davao held its Interschool gathering and fellowship on 31 July 2013 at San Pedro Cathedral. Participated by almost 10 non-sectarian schools in the Archdiocese of Davao, the gathering was started by a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Arch. Romulo Valles, DD, concelebrated by priests, attended by seminarians and religious sisters, and about 300 students, teachers and administrators coming from different schools. After the mass, a simple merienda was prepared followed by a fellowship program of the school administrators, CCMD partners and collaborators.

The aim of the gathering is to foster and strengthen collaboration among CCMD and the non-sectarians schools administrators and staff. Bishop Valles and Fr. Pat Devlin, SM, Marist Fathers district superior stayed the whole duration of the program and participated in its activities. All the CCMD collaborators and partners had indeed a great time together. Part of the fellowship also is to acknowledge participating schools as well as to help CCMD improve its programs for this year and years to come through envisioning.

CCMD began way back in 1980 by a Maryknoll priest and since then has continued to serve the spiritual needs of the Non-Sectarian schools in Davao. Currently, CCMD serves about 20 schools.

The Marist Fathers took this ministry last 1 June 2013. We are grateful for the opportunity to work for the young people of Davao in these non-sectarian schools in Davao. We are thankful to0 for the Diocese of Davao for the trust and support.
